What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxTopeka, where x = independently organized TED event. At our event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
“This event is an opportunity for speakers from Topeka and the surrounding areas to share their ideas with the world,” said Nathan Morris, TEDxTopeka founder and organizing committee member. “There is so much talent in this community, and we want TEDxTopeka to help highlight the amazing things and people here.”
The independently produced event, operated under a license from TED, was organized by community volunteers and aims to start conversations, share ideas, and engage the community.
